Boxing | Timothy Bradley wins the WBO Welterweight title from a stunned Manny Pacquiao and boxing community

A strange night it was for the boxing community but reality must be accepted. Timothy Bradley is the new WBO Welterweight Champion and adds the name Manny Pacquiao to his unbeaten streak as a pro. The drama started when Pac-Man heavily delayed the fight by leaving his dressing room to stretch his calves after the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics game 7 (he’s a big Celtics fan).
After that delay, the fight started and it was obvious Pacquiao was in a different class than Bradley, who despite being game, had no match for the precision of Manny’s straight left or the power to seriously make a difference. By the bout’s end it was widely accepted the Pacquiao lost no more than 2 late rounds only due to cruising what was certain a dominant victory. The first judge saw it for Manny, and then the night got even weirder when the second judge gave it to Bradley. The strange of the night reached a boiling point when the final judge gave the split decision victory to Bradley, handing Pacquiao his first lost in 7 years.
Controversy ensued as the two fighters were already promoting a November 10th rematch post-fight and the circumstances of the betting lines the week leading up to the fight lead many to believe the bout was fixed. Whatever the case, Manny Pacquiao has a new “L” on his record, making the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight even father from reality, and Timothy Bradley is the new undefeated WBO Welterweight Champion.
